Welcome to the new world… I always forget how mean people can be. Sometimes
a cigar is just a cigar. Sometimes it’s so much more…but if it can happen to
Uma Thurman, Carmen Electra, and Christy Brinkley, it can happen to me.
I was soooo happy in the 80’s check out this footage with Geza X and
the Mommymen and Peter Ivers…

The fourth of July was super festive! My friend Elise and her husband
Bob Lee took me to a party hosted by Edwin Letcher of the Fleagles in
Lincoln Heights, right in the middle of it all. It was like downtown Beirut.
We hung with Lee from Dionysus records, Janet and Dan from the Shakes,
photographer Bob Cantu and Jon Wahl of Clawhammer/the Amadans., Just
2 years ago the hillside caught fire and the fire trucks blocked the road an
everyone was stuck there. Our Friend Rikki Madrigal was killed in a
house fire caused by fireworks this year. I loved Rikki and I’m gonna miss
her. We all will.
I went to see Jack and the Weedstalk at the Key Club. My Tattoo
artist Andy of Kaiden Creations created the lead character Jack, and it took
on a life of it’s own when 140 dancers from dance schools like Madonna
Grimes and Debbie Reynolds in Burbank chimed in. It was a stoner fairytale
you can dance to and very well done. Congrats Andy!
We had a Surprise birthday party for Brad Mc Allen the former general
manager of Boardners at Tinys. The old crew got together and had a swell
time. A lot of Boardner’s former employees
attended, I heard we are called the Hoi Polloi and we are not welcome in the
new improved under 30 Hollywood, according to a speech I heard
about at the Nightclub association. Let me say this. They have all become
money hungry posers. Hollywood has been become a big stupid
disco all over again. Well, our money is green enough at Tiny’s. The
LA Weekly finally gave it’s blessing to our favorite Hollywood club.
It was nice to hang out at HTTHs store, No Regrets and explore downtown Long
Beach. I talked to Ice we hung out together in the early 80s.
Body Count is the only band that sound even more fucked up than Pantera!
It’s been too hot to move but that did not stop me from attending a
cavalcade of events and I still missed quite a few. Motley Cruefest was a
hoot. The Vains of Jenna from Sweden tore it up as we celebrated their
signing to a very prestigious label. Kid Ego from the UK were also tearing
it up. The headline was True Crue starring Vince Neil’s son. I don’t know
his name but he has a cruster punk edge to the Motley Crue’s greatest hits.
It was a benefit for Skylar; Vince Neil's 3 year old. She passed away from
cancer; hence the money was going toward cancer research. The price was 30
dollars a ticket, lots of cool stuff was auctioned off.
I think they were very successful. Alex, Felicity and I stayed from 2pm-2:
30 am, we got the looks that kill! It was like walking into the late 80’s
all over again. Lot’s of Aquanet hairspray, good thing there was no smoking,
one match and we would have exploded. We had dinner at the Rainbow just like
old times except Lemmy was out of town. He was sorely missed by all of us.
Hollywood wants you!

I was at Hollywood Forever Cemetery for the Ramone's rock n roll high
school. They showed footage that has never been seen of Ramone’s and Henry
Rollins spoke about how they had influenced his musical sensibilities when
he was growing up. Marky Ramone who said they were the first
punk rock band in the world, Linda Ramone….PJ Soles had a moment, Steve
Jones kicked a football, and I went with Eric Aleto of the Van Gogh show,
which is on TV show Fridays at 10:30 pm channel 24 Comcast. My show Tequila
TV has moved to 9pm Fridays on the same channel.
The BBQ at Rock City News was super. I love the trains that Ruben has spent
so much time arranging, Ginger Coyote of Punk Globe and the White Trash
Debutants and J.D. the drummer from HTTH and I enjoyed the sun’s rays. Tracy
from the Peppermint creeps was pink all over, Felicity talked about the
announcement she made at the www.Cruefest.com for the Skylar Foundation
There was lot’s of drama as always! Isn’t there always? Lanning Gold is
having an art show tonight. I'm gonna go!!!
