"Audrye Sessions"
Audrye Sessions
Review by Ron

If the depth of British rock sensibility invaded the joyful peaks
of Icelandic pastorals, you'd be listening to the Audrye Sessions. Downing an
eclectic mixed fusion of drink, listeners will be surprised at how drunk they
get when the resonant playability of this newfound talent pours out of glass
half full. Ryan Karazija is so kind to blow your mind with floating lyrics that
break on through into grounded heights of genuine, raw emotion raised and held
by a tight band interplay. This cohesiveness of band formation can be likened to
an early Radiohead waiting to bloom onto the soil with the promise of bountiful
harvest.
Tr. 1 "Turn Me Off" – Both dark and light are examined and mixed to gray into a
track that explores the elation found in surrender and release.
Tr. 2 "Awake" – Karazija delves deep into noir with hook line and sinker
melodies. Intense emotion throughout equalized by a rock steady Alicia Marie on
bass.
Tr. 3 "Where You'll Find Me" – Masterful tonal complexity—poetry in motion
disarming till the very end. Incredible transitions into a blissed-out chorus.
"The Bends" gets groovy with "Agaetis Byrjun." Perfect slow downs and closing.
Tr. 4 "New Year's Day" – Intimate unplugged that transitions into a moving
realization. A late night drunkards conclusion to the illusion of time's winged
chariot.
